Monterrey is the largest city in Nuevo Leon State, in
Mexico, and it also serves as its capital city. The city of Monterrey is one of the richest in culture and history in all of Mexico, and as a result, it has been considered as the commercial hub as well as the city with the highest quality of life in the whole of Mexico, commonly viewed as the most Americanized city. Monterrey has earned the Beta World City Title and has grown to be an important industrial, business, and tourist center in the region.

Monterrey experiences a semi-arid climate that is classified as BSh in the Köppen climatic classification. Monterrey is one of the warmest cities in Mexico, and as such its weather is characteristic of hot and humid summers, mild winters, and cool, temperate springs and autumns. Periodical extreme weather is typical in Monterrey including extremely hot days within winter and very cold days during summer. As a result, the weather seasons may vary from year to year. Snowfall is rare, but natural disasters including extreme heat and summer fires as well as hurricanes tend to occur in Monterrey.
During winter, from

February, the temperature remains moderately mild, with the mercury in the range of 8°C (46.4°F) and 23°C (73.4°F). The readings may change occasionally, and the temperature may rise above the registered range. This season is the driest in the year, and as such precipitation collected is very minimal, often barely going above 16.5mm (0.6") on average, with as low as only four rainfall days per month. The sunshine hours per day average three and a half and most days may be reported to have intense cloud cover with an average of 64.5% in humidity.
Summer goes from

September and is mainly characteristic of a higher temperature range of between 21°C (69.8°F) and 35°C (95°F). The nights remain cool, but the early mornings may be a bit cold. The highest rainfall is received in summer, with September being the wettest month. The average precipitation in September is 151mm (5.9") collected from approximately eight and a half rainfall days in the month. The other months also receive rainfall, albeit in lesser amounts, concentrated mostly in the afternoons. The sun glows for up to nine hours per day on average during summer, and the sky is reportedly clear and beautiful.
The period between
March and May, during spring, makes the peak of the tourist season in Monterrey. The days receive ample sunshine and warm, pleasant temperature. During spring the beauty of Monterrey can be felt more with the blossom festivals and the fresh, crisp, and scented air. Picnicking and outdoor activities thrive more during the spring season.
