Doha, Qatar

Doha, the economic hub of Qatar, is the capital city and also the most populated city of Qatar. The city was established in the 1820s, but it was not until 1971 that it became the capital city of Qatar. Located to the east of Qatar on the Persian Gulf's coast, Doha is Qatar's fastest-growing city as well as its financial, economic, and educational hub.

In the Northern Katara region, tourists can have fun at the beautiful beach and enjoy all sorts of water games and activities, and later on, relax on the sandy shores to bask in the sun. Close by, within the same location, there is a cultural center, which is home to the cultural history and development of the people of Doha from the ancient times till date.
The Museum of Islamic Art is a beautiful depiction of an I.M. Pei design and hosts a massive collection of artwork surrounding the Muslim world from medieval times. This museum has been built on the human-made island, and it attracts people from all walks of life to take part in its history and development.
The Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art is another beautiful spot that focuses on arts and crafts as well as artifacts that are related mainly to the Arabian Peninsula, all the way from the nineteenth century to date.
Close to the Souq Waqif stands the famous turreted Doha Fort that is also referred to as Al Koot Fort, established back in the 1920s, and is presently home to a small set museum. When to visit Doha

Doha experiences a hot desert climate. The climate is characterized by extremely scorching summer temperatures with highly humid days. Summers are long - they last from May to September, with almost no rainfall at all. During winter, from December to February, the temperature drops to a tolerable level, and the days and nights become manageable.
In March, Doha holds the annual Doha Cultural Festival, with a focus on the appreciation of the traditional Qatari artwork, talent, and folklore of its people.
