Belgrade is usually referred to as the 'White City' and is the largest city in Serbia, also serving as its capital city. Belgrade is located at a point where the Sava River and the Danube River converge, at the same spot where the Balkan Peninsula and the Pannonian Plain cross with each other. Among other things, the location of Belgrade is one of the best tourist attractions in Serbia, complete with the iconic Beogradska Tvrdava Tower.
Many museums throughout the city feature the eras and empires that Belgrade has been through over the years, including the Roman, Ottoman, Byzantine, Serbian, and Austrian empires. Several antique pieces and unique masterpieces are found in these museums and galleries, forming a unique tourist attraction.
Outdoors in Belgrade is vibrant, with numerous natural parks and gardens around the city, and as much water activities on the rivers in Belgrade. The Knez Mihailova Street is lined with many cafes and street food restaurants as well as shopping arcades and stall. Later, nightlife in Belgrade can be accomplished in the old taverns in Skadarlija as well as in the floating nightclubs at the rivers’ regions.
