Ho Chi Minh City, popularly referred to as Saigon, is located in the south of Vietnam and well-known for its position in the Vietnamese war. Ho Chi Minh City is outstanding from the numerous colonial points left by the French. The Notre-Dame-Cathedral is one such landmark, as well as the Central Post Office, both of which date back into the nineteenth century and made of materials purely from France.
There are numerous food courts and kiosks along the streets in busy places like the Ben Thanh Market. Tourists relish the delicacies as they go about their days.
A visit to the War Remnants Museum reveals the war details of Ho Chi Minh City, with more such displays at the Cu Chi tunnels and others at the Independence Palace, known for the 1975 Vietnamese gate breach.
Wild animals have been tamed and preserved in the Saigon Zoo and Botanical gardens, as well as rare plant species, to serve as a tourist attraction center.
Tourists enjoy viewing the elephants and tigers, among other numerous animal species.
There is also a preserve at the mouth of the Saigon River, where animals and rare plants are tendered, called the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve. Another attraction spot is the Jade Emperor Pagoda, famous for its scents from incense sticks, statue carvings, and a beautiful turtle pond.
