Colombo, Sri Lanka

Colombo is the capital city as well as the largest city of Sri Lanka. Seeing that the temperature barely goes above 31°C (87.8°F) on the hottest days and below 22°C (71.6°F) on the coldest days, Colombo has no occurrences of the extreme summer scorch and severe winter chill. Sunshine is ample in Colombo throughout the year, and humidity averages remain high at 75% across the year.
The peak of the travel season to Colombo is anytime between December and March. During this time, the monsoon rains have calmed down considerably, making it easier to tour the city without hindrance. The humidity during this time is also moderately low and tolerable, and the temperature is warm and pleasant, averaging 26.5°C (79.7°F) per day.
Among the many activities and events in Colombo, the major one is the Vesak Buddhist Festival that happens in May every year, where Buddhists come together to celebrate and appreciate their religion.
