Weather in March

March signifies the beginning of a transition period in Andorra as winter starts to give way to spring. The mountainous regions, such as the Grandvalira area, experience this shift more gradually than the lower valleys due to their higher altitudes. Average temperatures across the country begin to rise, ranging from 1°C to 11°C. In the valleys, including Andorra la Vella, temperatures are typically on the higher end of this spectrum.

While March still sees snowfall, especially in high-altitude areas, it is less frequent and substantial than in February. The receding snow levels mark the end of the peak ski season. Nevertheless, skiing and snowboarding can still be enjoyed in the early parts of the month, especially in the higher ski resorts.

Compared to February, March brings a noticeable increase in temperature and a decrease in snowfall. As the month progresses, the signs of spring become more evident, with the melting snow feeding into rivers and streams. Looking forward to April, temperatures continue to rise and the weather becomes more varied, with increasing chances of rainfall replacing snowfall.
