Arkansas is a south-central US state bordered by Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. It was the 25th state admitted to the Union in 1836, historically dominated by agriculture but now with a diversified economy that includes mining and manufacturing. Home to Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas is renowned for its mineral springs and resorts located in the Ozark Mountains, making it a popular tourist destination.
The state capital is Little Rock and its highest point is Mount Magazine at 839 m (2,753 ft). Its official nickname is 'The Natural State' and its motto is “Regnat Populus” (The People Rule).
