Sacramento is the capital city of the state of California in the United States. It is the official seat of the county of Sacramento, of the California governor, and the California Legislature. Sacramento is the sixth in the largest of California's cities, and its metropolitan area comes fifth in all of California. The capital of Sacramento remains in the top ten of all the capital cities of the United States.
Being the seat of the California Legislature, Sacramento is the political, governance, cultural, economic, and tourist hub of its metropolitan region. It is crowned with a beautiful and scenic environment, amid stunning greenery and natural parks and gardens, which add to the magnificence of the city.
The city has a scenic location in the Sacramento Valley to the Northern part of California, at the point where the American River and the Sacramento River meet. Its urban region spreads over into the foot of the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain ranges and into the valley farmland too. The west of the city has been preserved as a center of flood control because the city is susceptible to high floods.
The Tower Bridge is a beautiful creation of a vertical lift bridge built in 1935 and has since been listed as a National Historical monument connecting Sacramento to West Sacramento. From the bridge, visitors can enjoy scenic views of the city from across the river. Visitors also love to visit the area around the Sacramento River for all kinds of fun activities, including swimming, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. Since it is a famous harbor, numerous ships dock and leave from the city via the port, and visitors are welcome to enjoy cruising in the large ships.
The Supreme Court of California and the California State Capitol building are some of the most iconic structures in the cityscape of Sacramento. They stand mighty amid beautiful greenery surroundings and well-maintained lawns and gardens.
The Crocker Art Museum is a contemporary building that houses numerous exhibitions of Sacramento, including artistic masterpieces from the past. In the Fort State Historic Park, visitors partake of the beautiful views of renovated structures and ancient artifacts, among other historical works of enactment.

When to visit Sacramento

Sacramento experiences a hot-summer Mediterranean climate of Köppen Csa. It is characterized by mild, moderately wet winters and extremely hot and dry summers. Spring and autumn are moderately wet, warm, and pleasant, albeit short and more of transitional seasons.
Summer has highs of 93.6°F (34.2°C) and lows of 60.1°F (15.6°C) on average, with some days going over and above 104°F (40°C)! Extended daylight hours leave most days with up to eleven warm sunshine hours and moderately tolerable humidity.
Winter experiences highs of 58.1°F (14.5°C) and lows of 37.2°F (2.9°C), although some days have the mercury below the freezing point. The wettest month falls in winter; January, with 3.6" (91.4mm) precipitation from approximately ten days of light rainfall.
The most significant number of visitors in Sacramento is recorded between May and September, during long, hot, dry, and sunny summer months. Apart from having excellent outdoors weather, summer also has numerous events and festivals that attract attendance from far and wide.
The Sacramento Music Festival is held every year in May in various venues around the city, featuring stunning jazz and blues performances. In June, there is a major LGBT festival dubbed the Sacramento Pride, held to celebrate and appreciate the community amid activities like music performances and parades. And then in July, Sacramento holds the California State Fair, featuring great music concerts, funfair parks, and numerous exhibitions.
