The City and County of Denver serve as the capital city of the state of Colorado, USA, as well as its most populated municipal region. The city is named after James W. Denver, a former American Politician, and it has been nicknamed "The Mile High City" due it is elevated precisely one mile above the sea level.
Denver is located conveniently in the valley of the famous South Platte River, to the eastern part of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. This location has been in the frontline in attracting visitors to Denver to enjoy the scenic surroundings of the city and all the activities related to the same.
The city has been rated as one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, as well as one of the best places to live in the major cities of the United States. The architecture of Denver's cityscape is a blend of modernity and ancient buildings that work together to complete the stunning skyscape. The ancient architecture is featured in the Larimer Square and its nineteenth-century buildings, while modernity is seen through the stunning Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Art Museum, and the ever-magnificent Sports Authority Field in Mile High.

When to visit Denver

Denver experiences a continental semi-arid climate, which has been classified as BSk in the Köppen climatic classification. The location of the city and its elevation influences the climate in terms of precipitation and temperature. As a result, humid continental and subtropical microclimates might be registered in Denver. Sudden weather changes are common due to the location of Denver on the High Plains and at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The weather is generally characterized by hot summers that are moderately rainy, and cold, snowy winters that are dry.
Winter begins in November and extends through mid-March. Winter in Denver has been ranked as the coldest of all the major cities in the US. The days are freezing with low temperatures averaging 44.8°F (7.1°C) during the day and -3.3°F (-19.6°C) at night. Snowfall is common, and it begins from as early as October and ends as late as mid-May. There are approximately five and a half snowfall days per winter month, with up to 20cm accumulation of snow per month. The season has up to seven hours of sunshine per day.
Spring remains cold as it carries o with the winter weather, but the temperature rises slightly to a daily mean recording of 47.5°F (8.6°C)2.5°F (-16.4°C). Rainfall increases as summer approaches, and it may be accompanied by very mild tornadoes.
Summer kicks in from June, and most days record highs of 95.5°F (35.3°C) and lows of 59.5°F (15.3°C). The rainfall builds up slightly, and the rain gauge collects up to 2.2" (55.9mm) on the wettest month. Summer has up to ten hours of sunshine per day, making an excellent time to go outdoors and tour the city up late into the night.
Autumn is short but has mild weather. As early as mid-October, the first snowfall is already witnessed as Denver ushers in winter.
The travel season of Denver peaks in the summer, between June and August, when the weather is at its warmest and most pleasant. The period has minimal rainfall translating to more outdoor ventures and tours of the city.
