Hurghada is a beautiful coastal city located in the Red Sea Governorate State, in between the River Nile and the Red Sea, to the southeastern region of Egypt. Hurghada remains a top tourist destination in Egypt, not only because of its excellent location on the coast of the Red Sea but also because of its scenic environment and magnificent attractions throughout its stunning downtown.
Marked with wonderful sandy beaches with turquoise blue waters, Hurghada is the perfect holiday destination. It is home to numerous magnificent resorts, tourist villages, hotels, and holiday homes, and as many attractions to see from up in the air as on the ground and underwater, thanks to its attractively dramatic landscape.
Water sports are a common practice, with both professional and recreational snorkelers and scuba divers frequenting the city's many dive shops and schools. Other fun activities include sailing and windsurfing, canoeing kayaking, as well as cruises in the many cruise ships available. The famous El Mina shipwreck, otherwise known as the Rosalie Moller as well as many others in the Abu Nuhas Reef, has become a trendy spot with tourists over the years.
Visitors also get to enjoy the aromatic, traditional Egyptian coffee that is served in the numerous cafes and restaurants in Hurghada, as well as the extremely vibrant food scene that features anything from the local delicacies to international cuisines and continental fusions.

When to visit Hurghada

Hurghada experiences a subtropical desert climate that is classified under the Köppen climatic classification as BWh. The general characteristic of its weather features mild to warm winters and hot and extremely scorching summers. Night temperatures are enjoyable, and touring goes on until late, often. The hottest period is between June and September, and the coldest period ranges from November through February. Spring and autumn act more as transitional seasons, and are both short with lovely weather.
Summer has the mercury stretching to as high as 38.3°C (100.9°F) during the day and 28.5°C (83.3°F) during the nights on average. Rainfall is exceptionally scarce, and al days go by without a drop of the rain.
Winter is cool and pleasant, although the temperature remains moderately high. The thermometer reads highs averaging between 22.3°C (72.1°F) and 24.1°C (75.4°F) and lows of between 13.2°C (55.8°F) and 15.3°C (59.5°F). It feels a lot cooler with the heat of the summer gone, but the days periodically become hot, albeit in tolerable ranges. The amount of precipitation is meager, barely going above 1mm (0") on average!
Hurghada can be visited anytime during the year because the weather remains warm to hot, typically in all the months. Between November and arch, though, there may be experienced a drop in the visitor numbers in the city. The peak of the travel period comes between April and October, when the weather is at its hottest and driest, to allow for an excellent time to venture into the water activities. The sea temperature remains warm throughout the year, even better, but may feel a little cooler between December and April.
The biggest event celebrated in Hurghada is the Eid al-Fitr festival, which is held on varying dates to celebrate the end of the Islamic fasting period of the holy month of Ramadhan. Feasts, colorful decorations, parties, and mazing parades are done to mark this event.
