Seoul is the capital city of

The iconic Dongdaemun Design Plaza is an outstanding architectural work in Seoul featuring large conference halls and a beautiful park at the rooftop - all in a stunning curved design. The Gyeongbokgung Palace is a massive extension comprising of over seven thousand rooms, mesmerizing all its visitors. Then there is the Jogyesa Temple featuring and formerly beautiful pine trees location, still serving as a massive center of attraction.
In The National Museum of Korea, as well as the War Memorial of Korea, there lies a world of culture, artwork, history, and crafts from ancient times, safeguarding the county’s history in stunning displays of attractive works. Nearby, there is a large amusement park - Lotte World, just beside the dramatically tall Lotte World Tower.
High-end shopping of fashionable and trendy stuff and relaxing can be done at the Gangnam District, and a fantastic nightlife can be enjoyed at the vibrant Hongdae. A more original village setting can be felt in Itaewon and Insa-dong, with the fullness of local Korean barbeque eateries, tearooms, and food joints.
In between, enjoy the park views and beautiful promenades along the beautiful Han River. A hike up the Namsan Mountain provides magnificent views of the world below in the most naturally beautiful setting. Close by lies the Bukhan Mountain, home to the best hiking activities and other sports.
Visiting Seoul during the cherry blossom season between
March and
May is a good idea. During this time, the city is lively and has warm and pleasant weather, and touring downtown Seoul becomes easy. During summer, between
June and
August, the days grow unbearably hot and humid, and Seoul can be toured better in the evenings. Winters, however, between
December and
February, can be very cold as well as dry.
The Lotus Lantern Festival is a significant event in Seoul, celebrated every May. On top of it, Seoul celebrates the Hi Seoul Festival four times every year.
