Nashville is the capital city of the US state of Tennessee, its most populated city, and functioning as the capacity of the official seat of the county of Davidson. Nashville was established in 1779 and was named after the general of the famed Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War. Over the years, the city has witnessed tremendous growth and development because of its convenient location on the Cumberland River, and today Nashville stands as a firm educational, economic, cultural, financial, and tourist hub in the region and beyond.
The Nashville skyline has one of the most intricately designed buildings, encompassing both the ancient touches and the modern skyscraper looks. The iconic Parthenon, which replicates the original Parthenon in Athens, is one such vital landmark. The massive Ryman Auditorium is another old building that unites Nashville in various performance venues. Snowfall is exceptionally light and occasionally rare, but tornadoes and thunderstorms occur reportedly between February and May.
Summer highs average 91.4°F (33°C) and lows 71.8°F (22.1°C), but there are days when the heat goes as high as 98.6°F (37°C). Early summer receives ample rainfall, which considerably lessens as summer progresses.
