Buenos Aires is the official capital city, as well as the largest city in Argentina. Buenos Aires is translated to mean Good winds and is not a part of Buenos Aires Province, and neither is it the capital of Buenos Aires Province. The city is an autonomous region that is considered an Alpha city, and that serves as the tourist, architectural, and cultural hub of the area.

Buenos Aires is also home to many shopping stalls and arcades that stock all shopping items. Buenos Aires experiences a typical humid subtropical climate, complete with four distinct seasons. The climate is mostly influenced by the proximity of Buenos Aires to the Atlantic Ocean.
During summer, the days are hot and humid, with January as the hottest month. Occasionally the temperature drops to a cold and tolerable range as the cold and heat waves pass through. Summer is known for its varying weather, which begins with the heatwaves, followed by the cold waves, and then the violent thunderstorms.
Winters in Buenos Aires are fresh and highly tolerable, with the temperature in the lovely range of 8°C (46.4°F) and 17°C (62.6°F). The days get warmer from the occasional warm air passing by, but mainly the days are cold and foggy. Snowfall is rare during winter, as is the rainfall that barely hits 76.2mm (3") on average.
Both spring and autumn come with varying weather, and Buenos Aires experiences both the heat and the cold in these seasons.
The peak of the tourist season falls during spring, from October to December, and from March to May, during the fall. During summer, many locals leave for other destinations in a bid to escape the heat, and activities may remain low. During winter, outdoor activities are minimal owing to the chill.
Spring and autumn offer the best time to tour Buenos Aires. Spring brings stunning magnificence from the blossoms that decorate the city as visitors take to the parks and gardens for picnics and relaxing. In autumn, the people in Buenos Aires witness the excellent fall in all the brownish golden illuminations that linger in the city.
The Tango Buenos Aires Festival, held in August, and the El Dia Nacional de Tango, held on the 11th of December, are the most popular events in Buenos Aires. Both showcase the Tango dance specialty amid ample music and other performances.
