Karachi is the capital city of the Sindh, a Province in Pakistani. Karachi is the most populated city in
Pakistan and one of the most populated cities in the whole world. With a beta World City rank, Karachi, the most cosmopolitan city in Pakistan is also the key financial, cultural, industrial, economic, political, and educational hub of the country. The city is conveniently located on the Arabian Sea where it also hosts the largest ports of Pakistan - the Port of Karachi and the Port Bin Qasim.
Karachi was reportedly established in 1729, and in the nineteenth century, the British East India Company began to work on transforming the city into a vibrant port. Over the years, Karachi has grown to become a significant representation of diversity in terms of linguistics, ethnics, and religion, as well as a socially liberal and secular city.
Some of the key architectures in Karachi include the iconic Mazar-e-Quaid, the colonial-era Frere Hall, the famous Karachi Ports Trust Building, the ever-grand Mohatta Palace, the vibrant port of Karachi, and the astounding medieval and modern blend of the Karachi Central Business District architecture.
Karachi is located along the Sindh Province Coastline on the Arabian Sea, surrounded by coastal plains with several rocks, hills, and beautiful marshlands. Close by, the mangrove forests and the sprawling parks and gardens, complete with the meandering Indus River Delta complete the splendid landscape.
Karachi experiences an arid climate which is classified as Köppen BWh. The weather is characterized by long summers which are influenced by the Arabian Sea currents and short winters that are mild and dry. The monsoon season comes around in
June, and the humidity levels remain steady and almost constant throughout the year.
The cold season begins in
December and ends in
March. During this period, the temperature averages range between 10.5°C (50.9°F) and 25°C (77°F), making most days warm and very pleasant. The season has an average of 8mm (0.3") precipitation, with December being the least wet at 4.4mm (0.2"), with up to eight and a half sunshine hours per day, the winter days are warmer and drier than should be, and touring the city becomes so easy.

April to
November, Karachi is extremely hot. The temperature shoots up as high as 36°C (96.8°F) or more on the hottest days. The month of
May registers the hottest temperature, with a daily mean of 35.2°C (95.4°F) on average on the higher side and an average of 25.9°C (78.6°F) on the lower side. May is also the driest month of the year with 0mm (0") recorded precipitation. During this season, the sunshine hours per day average ten! This feature makes the days extremely hot and scorching, considering the humidity is relatively high.
From
July to mid-
September, Karachi experiences the huge downpour influenced by the monsoons. The days become extremely wet with up to 86mm (3.4") being collected in precipitation. The temperature, however, remains high throughout, averaging 28.3°C (82.9°F) for the daily mean recording. The sunshine hours during the monsoon season average six per day, despite the rains.
The best time to tour Karachi is between December and March, during winter. This period offers the best time to travel the city without interruptions, and also features warm and pleasant days devoid of the extreme summer scorch.
