Barcelona, the capital city of Catalonia, as well as the region's largest city, is a universal area marked by beautiful art galleries and outstanding architectural designs. Barcelona is home to stunning ancient architectural landmarks like the Sagrada Familia Church, which was done by Antoni Gaudi. MUHBA, the center of the history for Barcelona, features photographic antique Roman archeological exhibitions and is one of the attraction spots around. The Gothic Quarter, built like a maze, encompasses in depth the ancient roots of Barcelona. Some modernity is visible through the work of art on the Museu Picasso and Fundacio Joan Miro, designs realized by artists with the same names as the structures.
The central business district of La Rambla has numerous cafes that sell local delicacies day and night. The famous La Boqueria market also has several food courts to choose from, as well as drinks and refreshments. Vibrant nightlife is better felt in areas like El Born and others.
The Barcelona Zoo, found in Parc de la Ciutadella, in the northern region of Barcelona, falls in an area with various assortments of seafood and easy access to the wide beachfront area. Another magical spot in Barcelona is the Parc Guell, which features a beautiful viewpoint of the downtown, as well as a lovely terrace and magnificent displays of the Gaudi mosaics.
There is more at the top of Montjuic than the beautiful Magic Fountain. Here, tourists get to enjoy their favorite music and light shows, and also partake of the magnificent Catalan Art by Palau Nacional.
Visiting Barcelona is great anytime between

October, as this is when the weather is lovely, and there are many celebrations throughout the city. During spring, from
May to
June, the Sonar electronic music festival and the Verbena de Sant Juan are the ultimate celebrations, with the latter featuring stunning fireworks in the night sky and bonfires along the beaches. During summer, between Jul and
August, Barcelona gets hot and humid, but the
July Grec Festival brings more theatre performances, music and dance shows, and other forms of art displays.
