Clearwater is the smallest among the principal cities of Tampa Bay Area, a metropolitan area that is made up of Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater. The city serves as the official seat of the Pinellas County in
Florida, in the United States.
Clearwater is located conveniently to the northwestern region of Tampa and St. Petersburg and borders the Gulf of Mexico to its west and Tampa Bay to its southeastern part. This location is a part of the reasons the city has recorded a significant growth and development in the past.
Clearwater's cityscape is a magnificent blend of ancient architecture and modern skyscrapers. The old Pinellas County's Courthouse is an example of intricate ancient architecture as featured in the marble and stone structure, as is the Capitol Theatre that has since been renovated and added to the historical places of Clearwater.

The weather of Clearwater is a significant part of why tourism is vibrant, warm, sunny, and pleasant. Numerous beaches provide for a fun and many water-related activities and competitions, with Clearwater Beach on the top of the list. A vast stretch of hotels and class- holiday condos, as well as restaurants and eateries, line the vast three-mile beachline, providing an excellent island destination for visitors.
The city of Clearwater experiences a humid subtropical climate as characterized by warm to hot temperature ranges throughout the year and two distinct seasons - the wet and moderately dry seasons. The annual temperature averages highs of 82.9°F (28.3°C) and lows of 64.8°F (18.2°C).
The moderately dry season begins in
October and stretches through
May. Most days receive very little or no rainfall, and up to seven and a half hours of sunshine. The driest month is
November, with only 7.1cm of precipitation recorded.
The wet season is short, lasting between
June and
September, and is accompanied by several hazards to which visitors remain warned. Extreme heat, thunderstorms, floods, and hurricanes interrupt day to day activities in the city. The wettest months are
July and
August, both with up to 26cm of rainfall collected!
Because of the all-year-round pleasant and tolerable weather, Clearwater can be toured at any time. However, the touring season peaks between
March and July, from spring through early summer. This period has excellent weather for the outdoors and is devoid of weather-related hazards that dominate the period between June and September, featuring floods, hurricanes, and thunderstorms.
Among the many festivals held in Clearwater, the September Super Boat National Championship and the October Clearwater Jazz Holiday are the most significant.
